FAQs

Q. Are there any specific things we should be doing during Purple Pinkie week or is it up to each club?

A. We would like clubs to concentrate on schools and shop fronts/windows.  That gives you lots of scope as to how you engage with and involve your local schools and how you might get the End Polio Now message over in your local shop windows. Over and above those two activities clubs are welcome to develop their own ideas.

Q. When exactly is Purple Pinkie week?

A. We anticipate that clubs will concentrate on activities from 20-27 February.  But you can of course raise awareness and funds any time before or after that week.

Q. Is there a final lunch event ?

A. The District Purple Pinkie Dinner is on 02 March in the evening with our special guest RIBI President David Fowler. It will be held at the prestigious Boreham House in Chelmsford and tickets are just £21 for a 3 course meal. Dinner 7.15 for 7.45pm. Beforehand is an optional Champagne Reception. Reserve your tickets now from rotary@kenbuck.co.uk

Q. Is there any way that we can recognise the efforts of our local schools?

A. Yes - a Certificate of Appreciation, for awarding to schools and pupils, or other organisations will be made available on application. E:  stan@graphic-impressions.co.uk

Q. We note from Purple Pinkie News that materials have been distributed to clubs but we still have t shirts and badges left over from last year.

A. Each club were given posters, comic books, leaflets and stickers in January but do use anything you still have from February 2009 – especially the t shirts.

Q. Where do we send any monies that we collect?

A. Please send cheques made payable to RFUK (Polio Challenge) and send to Rtn Stan Keller c/o Graphic Impressions, Springfield Lyons House, Springfield Lyons Approach, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 5LB or click on the Donate Now page and use the JustGiving form.

Q. Is it too late to order Purple Pinkie Pints

A. No you can still order: e-mail purplepinkieale@btinternet.com or visit the Braintree Rivers Rotary Club website at www.brr.org.uk  Purple Pinkie Ale is £2.50 per 500ml bottle, or £25.00 for a case of 12.
